Naturopathic Medicine-

Naturopathic Medicine is a unique system of health care, promoting natural healing and prevention of disease. Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine are trained as primary care general practitioners who use a variety of non-invasive natural therapeutics to holistically treat both acute and chronic health conditions.

How is it different from conventional medicine?

Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine are trained with a different philosophy than conventional physicians.  They are guided by six Principles of Naturopathy, which emphasize a holistic and natural approach to patient care, diagnosis, management, and treatment of medical conditions. The Principles of Naturopathic Medicine include using the gentlest therapies possible, the belief that your body, mind and spirit have the innate knowledge to heal themselves, treating the cause of the illness rather than symptoms, taking the entirety of a person into account during treatment, educating patients about their health, and focusing on preventive medicine.

Naturopathic Physicians are required to receive the same amount of basic and clinical science training as conventional doctors, and also complete additional training in Botanical Medicine, Homeopathy, Physical Medicine, and Nutrition and Lifestyle Counseling.  Naturopaths are the only primary care physicians trained in these modalities, making them uniquely qualified to address a wide variety of health concerns with gentle, safe, and effective therapies.
